Compare the scope behind the price
A tent structure price is only one part of a project budget. Two proposals can appear similar while including different enclosure systems, services, transport arrangements or installation responsibilities. A useful comparison begins with a written scope, consistent specifications and clear exclusions.
There is no single reliable price for every project. Location, configuration, quantity, schedule and agreed responsibilities need to be established before a meaningful proposal can be prepared.
Build the budget around the complete project
Structure and enclosure: Identify the proposed structure, roof, walls, doors and other openings. Record the actual configuration and materials so alternatives can be compared fairly.
Flooring and accessories: Separate the floor system, internal divisions, lighting, ventilation and other requested equipment. Confirm whether each item is included, optional or supplied by another contractor.
Site preparation and interfaces: Allow for the site works identified by the project review, including ground preparation, foundation or anchoring requirements, access and utility connections. Confirm the party responsible for assessing and providing each item.
Logistics and handling: Define the delivery destination, shipment scope, packing, unloading, handling equipment and site access arrangements. Clarify the agreed delivery terms and responsibility for any applicable destination charges, taxes or duties.
Installation and handover: State whether the proposal includes installation labour, supervision, equipment, documentation, inspections and acceptance activities. Include dismantling or relocation only where those services form part of the agreement.
Record assumptions and open items
Mark costs that depend on information not yet available, such as a site survey or final service layout. Identify quote validity, currency, payment milestones and the treatment of changes in the commercial proposal. Ask for revisions when the configuration or scope changes rather than comparing outdated totals.
A practical allowance for unresolved items should follow the identified project uncertainties. Avoid using a fixed percentage as a substitute for reviewing what remains undecided.
Compare proposals on one page
For each proposal, record the configuration, included items, exclusions, delivery destination, installation scope, schedule and open questions. Compare the same quantity and specification wherever possible. If an alternative has a different scope, explain the difference alongside its price.
Consider operating requirements and future maintenance or reuse where they matter to the brief. An initial purchase figure alone does not describe every responsibility over the intended period of use.
Discuss your budget priorities with YIHE. We can help coordinate suitable supply options and clarify the proposed scope, so decisions are based on what the project requires and what the proposal actually includes.
